Laboratory tests show that the new Colombier EcoBarrier Kraft paper prevents migration of mineral oils (MOSH/MOAH) into food. EcoBarrier grease and water vapor barriers protect and preserve packaged food, whilst simultaneously the mineral oil barrier stops harmful mineral oils from entering the food.
Tests completed by an independent laboratory confirmed that EcoBarrier Kraft provides an outstanding mineral oil barrier when used as primary packaging and prevents cross-contamination from secondary packaging.

Corrugators can now use cheaper recycled liners in combination with EcoBarrier Kraft, instead of virgin fibre foodservice boards. Use of recycled liners helps further by reducing the CO2e footprint of corrugated packaging.
MOSH/MOAH is the term describing mineral oil hydrocarbons that can migrate from packaging materials into foodstuffs during transportation and production. The main sources are adhesives, printer inks and packaging materials – particularly those made of recycled materials. Other sources include machine and hydraulic oils used to produce and package food.
Colombier EcoBarrier brown kraft paper adds a layer of ingenuity to corrugated cardboard packaging, being an ideal inner liner for safeguarding food and consumer health.
