(Learn more about the perfect bread bag)

The truth is, plain paper and cardboard often fall short as food packaging material failing to provide adequate  𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 ⬇️

While they provide physical protection, in the absence of a closed surface or a protective barrier, they struggle to preserve the product. To prevent water, grease, light, or oxygen penetration, packaging papers need an extra oomph.

Until recently, the way to make paper suitable for demanding food packaging was by creating a laminate. A multi-layer solution combining a paper substrate with either a plastic lining or an aluminium foil.

However, from a recycling perspective, this was again problematic, as such polymaterials have poor eco credentials.

Now, Colombier EcoBarrier™ materials are designed to tackle this recyclability problem. They provide a recyclable and thus environmentally friendly alternative to traditional non-circular packages.

And surprisingly, one of the more sensitive applications is a 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐠. 🍞

For a tasty result, there’s little room for error:
– Make the bag too porous, and you’ll end up with a dry bun
– Seal the bag too tightly and the sandwich becomes a moist lump.

With our EcoBarrier™ technology we created the perfect, and sustainable, bread bag material. The bag preserves the quality and freshness of the product and extends the shelf life. For full recyclability, even the window in the bag can be made of paper
